Accompanying an exhibition that explored the work of Polish poet, art theorist and magazine editor Jan Brzekowski (1903-1983), this publication describes the significance of his 1931 survey of contemporary art titled Kilometrage de la peinture contemporaine, 1908-1930 and examines his position within European avant-garde art circles of the early 20th century, reproducing drawings, photographs, collages and other works by various international artists who were friends of the poet or who collaborated on or contributed to his publications, including such figures as Arp, Breton, Duchamp, Ernst, Miro, Moholy-Nagy, Picasso, Ray, Rodchenko and Schwitters.
