Documents Violin Phase (1982), a dance performed in 2011 at the Museum of Modern Art in which Belgian choreographer De Keersmaeker (b. 1960) created large circular motifs in sand strewn on the floor; inspired by an experimental 1967 musical piece of the same name by American composer Steve Reich, the work was the third in a series of performances held in conjunction with a 2010 exhibition titled "On Line: Drawing through the Twentieth Century" (see Worldwide 33636).
