Modeled on a book of photographs by Frank (b. 1924) that was handmade by the artist in 1952, this publication consists of full-page reproductions of 34 somber, carefully sequenced images produced by the renowned American photographer from 1948 to 1952, including numerous evocative studies of street scenes in New York, Paris, Valencia and London. This edition has been redesigned with the artist's input, but the original sequence of the photographs has been retained; see also the 1994 edition of this book (Worldwide 56341), which was produced in a somewhat larger format.
