Taking its title from the poem "Le Bateau ivre" ("The Drunken Boat") by Arthur Rimbaud, this catalogue examines the ways in which the unending barrage of images encountered in daily life today is reflected in recent paintings, drawings and sculptures by 16 Italian artists whose works reveal a tendency to assemble and juxtapose seemingly incongruent images in order to make the "background noise" into the primary subject.
