Documenting works donated to the Los Angeles County Museum of Art by the Ahmanson Foundation, this publication (which accompanied a recent exhibition at the Joslyn Art Museum) includes many entries that were originally published in French Oil Sketches and the Academic Tradition: Selections from a Private Collection on Loan to the University Art Museum of the University of New Mexico, Albuquerque (Worldwide 24721), the catalogue of a 1994 exhibition at the Mint Museum of Art, Charlotte, but also presents eight works that were not in the earlier show and reattributes a ninth.
