Documenting an exhibition designed to illuminate interconnections between traditional folk culture and current art forms, this catalogue presents installations, sculptures, paintings, drawings and photographs by 25 contemporary artists, most of the works produced specifically in response to objects in the Museum's collection of Austrian folk art. Six essays accompany excellent reproductions of the featured pieces, which include compositions by Antoni Tapies, Arnulf Rainer, Daniel Spoerri, Hermann Nitsch, Luigi Ontani, Claudio Parmiggiani, Braco Dimitrijevic, Nikolaus Lang, Magdalena Jetelova and Mario Cravo Neto.
