This well-illustrated catalogue showcases recent collages and other works by Los Angeles rock musician Beck Hansen (b. 1970) alongside collages and assemblages spanning the career of his grandfather Al (1927-1995), an "intermedia" artist best known for his provocatively staged happenings and Fluxus-related actions of the 1950s and 60s, many of the pieces incorporating banal found images and such discarded objects as cigarette butts and matches. Includes an interview with Beck Hansen, a selection of handwritten texts and other writings by Al Hansen and an essay exploring the shared philosophical and aesthetic values informing the artists' oeuvres.
