Surveying conceptually oriented works by a New Zealand-born British artist who manipulates sculptural and photographic techniques to explore the properties of natural and artificial light, this catalogue presents two critical essays, an interview with Culbert (b. 1935), and illustrations of some 25 pieces that range from photographic studies of the shadows cast by sunlit lampshade frames, light bulbs and wineglasses to tower-like assemblages of discarded radios and suitcases.
