Highlighting the important influence of Nicolas Rolin (1376-1462) and his son Jean (1408-1483) on the development of late Gothic art in Burgundy, this catalogue presents 17 well-illustrated texts that document notable architectural projects sponsored by the Rolins in the course of their prominent political careers and examine art works produced under their patronage, including tapestries, illuminated manuscripts, sculptures and some 20 paintings by such figures as Jan van Eyck, Rogier van der Weyden and Jean Hey.
