This profusely illustrated catalogue highlights a recent series of paintings executed by Japanese-born, Los Angeles-based artist Yamagata on the bodies of vintage Mercedes-Benz roadsters. A substantial chronicle of the project accompanies detailed photographic documentation of the extensive restoration of the cars and the creation of the paintings, most of which feature vibrantly colored decorative motifs based on tropical flowers and foliage.
