Presents full-page reproductions of more than 100 innovative sculptures, drawings, paintings and other works produced from 1983 to 1994 by Italian "New Futurist" artists Gianantonio Abate, Innocente, Marco Lodola, Umberto Postal and Plumcake (Giovanni Cella, Romolo Pallotta and Claudio Ragni), the selection ranging from molded plastic figurines and stylized cutout images of dancers to brightly colored tapestries incorporating geometric motifs and painted steel objects resembling toys and consumer products. Four substantial essays discussing the genesis of the Nuovo Futurismo group in the mid-1980s and examining the artists' conceptual and stylistic links to Futurism, Dada and Pop art are augmented by an anthology of reprinted critical texts.
