Focused on the early years of N.E. Thing Co. (NETCO), the collaborative partnership created by pioneering Canadian Conceptual artists Iain (b. 1936) and Ingrid Baxter (b. 1938), this catalogue presents landscape-related works consisting of photographs, charts, maps and texts that challenge traditional views of art while often playfully addressing issues related to the environment, technology and perception. Two substantial essays reviewing the innovative activities of NETCO and examining the team's manipulations of landscape imagery are augmented by two statements by the Baxters and ten brief texts (three reprinted) by critics and fellow artists.
