Marking the completion of the Museum's installation of an innovative office interior created by Wright (1867-1959) in the mid-1930s for Pittsburgh businessman Edgar J. Kaufmann, this publication presents numerous drawings and photographs of the wood-paneled room, its furnishings and its elaborate wall-sized relief mural. An extensive five-part text summarizes Wright's early career, describes in detail the process of designing and constructing the office, and traces the architect's long relationship with the Kaufmann family, for whom he also built the renowned Fallingwater residence (1935-37).
