Showcasing works acquired since 1987 by noted collector Giuseppe Panza di Biumo, this catalogue features excellent full-page reproductions of some 60 sculptures, paintings and installations by 18 predominantly American artists, including a selection of conceptual compositions from the 1960s and early 70s by Joseph Kosuth, Lawrence Weiner and Robert Barry along with numerous minimalist works produced since the mid-1980s by such artists as Mark Lere, Peter Shelton and Robert Therrien. An introductory text discussing the role of museums and private collections in the contemporary art world is supplemented by an essay by Panza di Biumo comprised primarily of commentaries on the featured artists.
