Surveys the careers of Belgian goldsmith Philippe Wolfers (1858-1929) and his son Marcel (1886-1976) through a presentation of jewelry, vases, table services and other objects that reflect their prominent position in Belgian decorative arts of the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Biographical texts are accompanied by a discussion of Belgium's cultural milieu during the era of Art Nouveau and a comparative examination of the works of Philippe Wolfers and Rene Lalique.
