Accompanying but not directly documenting an exhibition of furniture and other works by prominent Dutch designer Kramer (b. 1922), this book presents drawings, photographs and brief descriptions of some 130 diverse pieces dating primarily from the 1950s and 60s, including chairs, desks and drafting tables as well as street lights, mailboxes, clocks and other objects. Includes an interview with Kramer and four essays discussing his career, his aesthetic, social and technical concerns, and the status of his designs in the Dutch furniture industry.
