Surveying the career of a prominent Dutch fiber artist noted for her large-scale sculptures composed of plastic sheets and other synthetic materials, this catalogue presents illustrations of some 30 diverse works created by Van der Horst (b. 1919) since 1968, including suspended tent-like structures, monochromatic woven reliefs and site-specific outdoor installations. Two essays discuss the artist's Bauhaus-influenced training as a painter and examine in detail the explorations of spatial forms central to her inventive oeuvre.
