This copiously illustrated catalogue surveys a wide range of architectural designs produced during the 1980s by students at the Moscow Institute of Architecture (MARKHI), documenting 35 projects with models, plans and elevations as well as brief descriptions. Following concise profiles of some 30 Soviet architects associated with the Institute since its founding in 1933, short essays trace the history of architectural education in Moscow and discuss the Institute's evolution, its methods of instruction and its current programs.
