Reviewing the career of one of Murano's leading postwar glass artists, this catalogue provides large color reproductions of some 170 vases, cups and other vessels created by Seguso (b. 1909) from the 1930s to 1991, illustrating his reinterpretation of traditional styles in an elegant modernist idiom based on simple forms and swirling lattices of color. A substantial essay detailing the course of Seguso's career is augmented with two short texts addressing his collaborations with other designers.
