PATRICK FAIGENBAUM. Musee d'art moderne de la Ville de Paris, 1991. 116 pp. with 66 ills. 26 x 24 cm. ISBN 2904497102 In French.
Reflecting the continuing prominence of the group portrait as a motif in the work of French artist Faigenbaum (b. 1954), this chiefly pictorial catalogue highlights 39 recent black-and-white photographs depicting aristocratic Neapolitan families posed in their ancestral residences. A short essay discussing the psychologically neutral character of Faigenbaum's distinctive oeuvre precedes full-page reproductions of the featured works and small illustrations of a contrasting series composed of outdoor snapshots of a French family gathering.
