This broad pictorial survey of the work of celebrated Italian sculptor and painter Marini (1901-1980) features full-page reproductions of some 115 oils, prints, drawings and sculptures reflecting the major themes explored by the artist throughout his career. A biographical text and a brief interview with Marini supplement two critical essays discussing the humanistic concerns underlying his portraits, images of circus performers, and studies of female nudes and equestrian figures.
