This slim catalogue presents excellent photographs of six reliquaries, two richly bound illuminated manuscripts (one of which is examined in detail in Das Quedlinburger Evangeliar, Worldwide 54026), an ivory comb and a ritual vessel, forming a group of medieval ecclesiastical works recently returned to the eastern German town of Quedlinburg from which the pieces were taken during World War II. A brief essay traces the history of Quedlinburg as a center of learning during the Carolingian and Ottonian periods and discusses the foundation and development of the church treasury.
