AFTER DUCHAMP. Edouard Jaguer and Jean-Jacques Lebel. Galerie 1900-2000, Paris, 1991. 168 pp. with 103 ills. (49 col.). 21 x 22 cm. In French.
Illustrating the broad influence of Marcel Duchamp on art of the 1970s and 80s through a presentation of works overtly appropriating or inspired by his imagery, this chiefly pictorial catalogue features reproductions of 30 well-known Duchampian creations juxtaposed with some 70 related collages, assemblages, paintings, photographs, installations and sculptural objects by an array of international artists, including Arman, Bury, Johns, Segal, the Starn Twins and many lesser-known figures. Two introductory texts briefly discuss Duchamp's iconoclastic body of work and his artistic legacy.
