Highlights a group of 20 colorful lithographs, aquatints and etchings (illustrated along with selected state, progressive and trial proofs) created by Los Angeles artist Almaraz (1941-1989) in collaboration with master printer Efram Wolff between 1982 and 1989, including expressive sketch-like depictions of car crashes, stage productions and mythical subjects. An interview with Wolff describing his projects with the artist supplements an essay discussing Almaraz's oeuvre in the context of his Latino heritage and the aesthetics of Neo-Expressionism.
