Documents the first exhibition devoted to the woodblock prints of American modernist painter Nordfeldt (1878-1955), surveying the delicate Japanese-influenced seascapes produced by the artist from 1900 to 1906 and the colorful single-block woodcuts (known as "Provincetown prints") he executed from 1915 to 1917. Presenting full-page color illustrations of most of Norfeldt's 37 works in the medium, the catalogue includes a biographical essay discussing his study of Japanese printmaking techniques in England at the turn of the century and his associations with such Provincetown artists as William and Marguerite Zorach.
