Documents the first significant exhibition devoted to the eccentric oeuvre of Belgian artist Jacques Lizene (b. 1946), whose Dada- and Fluxus-inspired works since the 1960s have consistently expressed an overt self-deprecation that implicitly challenges conventional views of art and the artist. Including illustrations of a diverse array of "worthless" sculptures, drawings, photographs, and video and performance pieces, the catalogue features an assortment of brief critical essays, a detailed chronology of the artist's career, and numerous texts by Lizene (including a facetious autobiography) and by his colleague Ben Vautier.
