Emphasizing the influential teachings of American artist Dow (1857-1922), this catalogue examines his synthesis of Arts and Crafts principles with the aesthetics of Japanese printmaking. Nearly 30 color prints (mostly woodcuts) and nine landscape photographs by Dow are reproduced along with related works by several of his students and by such painters and photographers as O'Keeffe, Weber, Coburn and Kasebier.
