Examines five paintings by Crivelli (ca. 1435-1493), a stylistically eccentric Italian artist especially noted for the emphasis in his religious works on finely detailed fabrics and decorative motifs. Also illustrated and thoroughly described are recent recreations of five costumes based on the elaborate gowns worn by the Madonnas and saints portrayed in the paintings.
