Juxtaposing two substantial bodies of work sharing a common source in Surrealist traditions, this catalogue illustrates monumental constructions set on fire and figurative reliefs by Polish artist Hasior (b. 1928) and enigmatic assemblages of found mechanical objects by Belgian artist Van Breedam (b. 1936). Numerous texts include statements by the artists and anthologies of critical essays on their works and on the Phases movement with which they were affiliated in the 1960s.
