Accompanying the first substantial survey of the work of British artist Doris (Dod) Procter, a conservative realist painter of the Newlyn school, this catalogue documents some 60 paintings (primarily portraits and nude studies of women rendered in a painstaking, sculptural style) dating mainly from the 1920s and 30s. Includes two detailed essays tracing the artist's career and that of her husband Ernest Procter (1886-1935), fifteen of whose landscapes, genre scenes and decorative allegories are also illustrated.
