EVA KOCH. Centro Galego de Arte Contemporanea, Santiago de Compostela, 2003. 176 pp., profusely illustrated. 16 x 23 cm. ISBN 8445335340 Trilingual in Galician, Spanish and English.
Documents exhibition of interactive video installation "Villar," whose starting point is the Spanish village of Villar del Cobo, birthplace of the artist's mother, from where she was evacuated due to the Civil War and subsequently taken from an orphanage in Valencia to Norway. Koch's work, however, goes beyond a documentation of her ancestry, as it "presents itself as a look into our collective memory. It deals with the power and relativity of roots, the importance of emotional links and touches the frailty of human condition." (from "Memory and Conscience: About Villar" by Santiago B. Olmo). Volume show light shelfwear. Book is otherwise in very good condition.
