This exhibition offered a selection of 140 masterpies of Austrian Biedermeier. Starting out from Peter Fendi, a most renowned watercolorist who paved the way for the evolution of genre painting into the moralizing art of Viennese Biedermeier, the show also displayed treasures of the art of watercolor by his students Albert Schindler, Carl Schindler, and Friedrich Treml. The major part of the exhibits came from the comprehensive holdings of the Albertina's graphic art collection. Well-preserved volume in original wrappers.
