Accompanying an exhibition titled "Kunstlerfreundschaften: Karl Im Obersteg im dialog mit Amiet, Chagall, Jawlensky," a show that presented some 100 paintings, drawings and sculptures from the collection assembled from the 1920s through the 40s by Swiss businessman Karl Im Obersteg, this volume presents a large selection of letters that reflect the collector's close friendships with important avant-garde artists who found refuge in Switzerland during the interwar period.
