Surveys the accomplishments of celebrated Italian artist Giambattista Piranesi (1720-1778) through a presentation of some 300 prints spanning his career, including numerous works from the artist's famous series of views of Rome that are juxtaposed with recent images of the same locales by prominent Italian photographer Gabriele Basilico (b. 1944). An English translation of this exhibition catalogue was published in 2012 to accompany a presentation of the show at the San Diego Museum of Art in 2013 (see Worldwide 35315).
