Featuring two critical essays that examine the existential and aesthetic significance of positive and negative space in Pomodoro's individualistic oeuvre, this chiefly pictorial catalogue highlights some 55 sculptures (mainly cast in bronze) produced by the well-known Italian artist (b. 1926) from 1955 to 1992, the selection including gestural reliefs, upright tablets deeply inscribed with abstract signs, and numerous monumental spherical and columnar pieces whose surfaces have been fissured to reveal complex internal structures.
