This chiefly pictorial survey of the singular abstract oeuvre of celebrated American sculptor Louise Nevelson (1900-1988) features a critical review of the artist's career and fine reproductions of 175 sculptures dating from 1933 to 1988 that include monochromatic reliefs and columnar assemblages of wooden forms, public sculptures in aluminum and steel, and many of the monumental wall-like constructions of boxes and found objects for which Nevelson achieved renown in the late 1950s and the 1960s.
