Features good reproductions of some 75 abstract sculptures, reliefs and other works spanning the career of Belgian artist Bury (b. 1922), a prominent figure in the development of kinetic art whose innovative oeuvre ranges from configurations of wooden balls on raked planes and wall-mounted metal plates perforated with thin rods to public fountains composed of stainless steel columns and globes, most of the pieces incorporating parts in constant but almost imperceptible motion. A substantial text tracing the progression of Bury's career prefaces a selectively illustrated catalogue raisonne of more than 850 sculptures, reliefs, paintings and decorative objects produced by the artist from 1939 through 1993.
