Presents some 55 paintings, 14 sculptures and a small selection of furniture pieces collectively produced by members of Equipo 57, a politically engaged avant-garde group formed in Paris in 1957 by five young Spanish artists and designers (Juan Cuenca, Angel Duarte, Jose Duarte, Agustin Ibarrola and Juan Serrano) who developed a distinctive style of geometric abstraction based on Constructivist principles. Fine reproductions of the featured works (some reflecting the influence of Op art) are accompanied by a selection of the artists' manifestos and theoretical writings, an anthology of critical commentaries, and three texts examining in detail the five-year history of Equipo 57 and the significance of the group's experimental objectives in the context of trends in Spanish and European art of the period.
