Showcasing a diverse array of consumer products, graphic works and designs for architectural decoration based on dynamic configurations of simple geometric shapes, the first volume of this lavishly illustrated survey of the oeuvre of noted Italian artist Morandini (b. 1940) presents two concise critical texts along with excellent reproductions of works that range from posters, playing cards and watches to furniture, carpets and household utensils. In the second volume, two essays discussing the mathematical logic and the principles of space and motion central to Morandini's artistic vision accompany illustrations of more than 100 monochromatic sculptures, reliefs and drawings dating from 1964 to 1988, many of the works depicting sequential transformations of geometric forms.
