OP CHRISTO: THE REICHSTAG AND URBAN PROJECTS. Ed. by Jacob Baal-Teshuva. KunstHaus, Vienna, 1993. Published by Prestel-Verlag, Munich. 160 pp. with 168 ills. (95 col.). 31 x 24 cm. LC 94-234968 ISBN 3791313231 In English.
Focused on Christo's Wrapped Reichstag, Project for Berlin, a monumental work first conceived by the celebrated Bulgarian-born American artist (b. 1935) in 1971, this catalogue features fine reproductions of 25 preparatory drawings and collage studies for the "packaging" of the former German parliament building in silver fabric while also presenting pictorial documentation of major urban and environmental works completed by Christo from the 1960s to 1991. A 1986 interview with the artist and a chronology of the Reichstag project augment two reprinted texts (1977) addressing the political circumstances that long delayed the realization of the work.
