Thoroughly surveys the pioneering oeuvre of prominent Paris-based Polish designer Cieslewicz (b. 1930) through a presentation of more than 300 posters, book and magazine illustrations, collages and advertisements produced from 1955 to 1992, including many of the artist's celebrated posters promoting exhibitions, films and other cultural events as well as examples of his surrealistic photomontages on political and social themes. Excellent reproductions of the featured works follow a brief critical introduction and an interview in which Cieslewicz discusses his career, techniques and views on contemporary graphic design.
