Presenting a critical examination of Renger-Patzsch's career that focuses on the simultaneously objective and visionary character of his photographs, this catalogue features full-page reproductions of 50 images (many previously unpublished) produced from 1922 to 1962 by the prominent German artist (1897-1966), whose oeuvre, informed by Constructivist, Surrealist and especially Neue Sachlichkeit principles, encompasses numerous depictions of architectural and industrial subjects as well as nature studies, landscapes and portraits.
