Documents the first major exhibition devoted to Late Baroque painter Corrado Giaquinto (1703-1766), an Italian artist strongly influenced by Solimena during his early years in Naples who achieved wide renown for the large-scale decorative schemes he produced for royal patrons in Madrid and throughout Italy. Full-page reproductions of 50 paintings and bozzetti based on religious and mythological themes are prefaced by five essays that provide an extensive critical and biographical overview focused on the artist's long career in Rome from 1723 to 1753.
