Surveying selections from the diverse series of prints produced by noted American artist Sultan (b. 1951) from 1979 to 1991, this catalogue illustrates 84 works (chiefly monochromatic aquatints, screenprints and linoleum cuts) that include geometric and figurative abstractions, reductive still lifes, images of domino and playing card patterns, and fragmentary female nudes. A critical essay integrates discussions of Sultan's innovative techniques and elusive imagery with explications of many of the featured works.
