Providing an extensive review of the multifaceted oeuvre of celebrated Italian artist Enrico Prampolini (1894-1956), this substantial catalogue illustrates hundreds of paintings, drawings, sculptures, posters, scenographic designs and other works reflecting his achievements as a pioneer of abstract art in Italy, from his early involvement with Futurism and Dada to his explorations of biomorphic and concrete abstraction. A detailed biographical chronology and reprinted manifestos and other theoretical writings by Prampolini augment some 20 critical essays exploring each phase of the artist's international career.
