Documents an exhibition of some 350 objects produced over the past eight decades by the famed Paris jewelers Van Cleef & Arpels, including opulent earrings, bracelets, necklaces and brooches as well as vanity and powder boxes, cigarette cases, timepieces and evening bags, the majority dating from the 1920s, 30s and 40s. Small black-and-white photographs of hundreds of works and excellent color reproductions of selected pieces are supplemented by ten concise texts discussing the history of the firm and the styles, forms and settings it introduced.
