Accompanying a retrospective exhibition of the work of British sculptor King (b. 1934) but including no references to the show, this publication presents the first full study of the oeuvre of the noted avant-garde artist, featuring full-page reproductions of some 80 geometric steel constructions and symbolic abstractions incorporating plastic, wood, concrete and stone elements. A lengthy critical text including discussions of numerous individual sculptures provides an overview of King's career from his early studies with Caro to his recent return to a semi-figurative style.
