Published in a new edition on the occasion of the Museum Ludwig's 1992 exhibition, this well-illustrated book provides a thorough review of the public projects designed by celebrated Israeli sculptor Karavan (b. 1930), highlighting works that range from bas-relief murals to monumental sculptural environments in which white concrete pyramids, cubes, columns and other elemental forms are dramatically integrated into natural and man-made settings. Photographs of installations in Israel, Europe and Asia created by the artist since the early 1960s accompany a lengthy text which traces Karavan's career in detail, describing his major projects and emphasizing his humanistic themes.
