Provides extensive documentation of three multi-panel paintings by Bosch (ca. 1450-1516) from the museum's collection, eight religious and visionary works by Hugo van der Goes, Quentin Metsys, Dirk Bouts and other Flemish painters of the 15th and 16th centuries, and a selection of 18 prints considered to be based on Bosch's compositions. Substantial discussions and numerous detail views of the exhibited works supplement texts describing the restorations of the featured paintings and four well-illustrated essays which examine the cultural context of Bosch's oeuvre and investigate questions of attribution and technique.
