Surveying the conceptually oriented realist works on paper of American artist Mangold (b. 1938), this catalogue presents reproductions of 26 prints and 47 related drawings in a wide variety of media, consisting primarily of meticulous studies of hardwood floors and delicately expressive landscapes frequently overlaid with trompe l'oeil renderings of masking tape frames or rulers. Two extensive illustrated essays describing the progression of the artist's stylistic and thematic concerns from the 1960s to the present are supplemented by commentaries on the exhibited works.
